Structural Renovation of the Lateral Connection

2007 Janssen Process Teams with Envirosight for National Technical Support

March 2007

The Janssen Process Company, distributors of patented technologies for structurally renovating sewer laterals, has entered into a technical support agreement with New Jersey-based Envirosight. Under the agreement, Janssen's licensed contractors will receive technical support and training through Envirosight's national network of dealers.

"We are very pleased to announce that Envirosight and Janssen have teamed to give our contractors and municipal end-users the technical support essential to successful applications of the Janssen renovation," said Don Barnhart, General Manager for Janssen. "With Envirosight in place, we have a superior support backbone that reaches from coast-to-coast," he added.

"For us, aligning with the Janssen Process Company moves us into the expanding sewer rehabilitation market," said Rich Lindner, President of Envirosight. "This is a natural growth of our inspection and service business. In addition, we feel there are some product development possibilities that will expand our offerings."

Envirosight manufactures video pipeline inspection equipment for sewer, water, storm water and electrical conduit including robotic crawlers, zoom cameras and field inspection trucks and vans. Envirosight maintains a network of 21 U.S. dealers and has additional dealers in Mexico, Canada, Europe and Asia.

Franz Janssen, Trenchless Pioneer Retires

May 2007

Founder and President Franz Janssen turned over the operation of Umwelttchnik Franz Janssen GmbH to daughter Anja and son Niklas on May 14th, 2007, ending an era of almost 40 years of trenchless rehabilitation technology leadership.

Franz founded his company in Kalkar on the Lower Rhine in 1969 with a single flushing truck, providing sewer cleaning to local municipalities. In the '80s, he turned his attention to more sophisticated trenchless methods. In response to his customer's requests for repairing damaged pipe, Franz spent the next 20 years developing patented, novel concepts for renovating aging sewer pipes.

His method for applying durable PU or Silica resins from the inside to the outside of pipe through cracks and openings was a "breakthrough" technology because they offered agency managers a permanent repair solution while reducing costs compared to conventional dig and replace approaches.

Franz's zeal for invention in response to customer problems fueled company growth. Janssen GmbH now counts over 20 rehabilitation trucks operating in Germany and Europe. With his company firmly entrenched as one of Europe's leading trenchless rehabilitation companies, Franz transfers his legacy to Anja and Niklas. "I'm proud of what they have already accomplished," said Franz, referring to his daughter and son, "Their direction in expanding our technology and methods to the United States is working well." he added.

In September of 2006, JanssenGmbH established a US partner, the Janssen Process Company LLC who is marketing Janssen systems in North America.
